ALFRED COVE RENOVATION
This project breathes life and light into a quirky 1960’s conjoined residence in Alfred Cove.
These clients opted to work with what they had rather than rebuild - an economical and environmentally sustainable attitude that will result a great family home with a 1960’s edge.
The design solution for this family involved creating a legible entry to the house within the contraints on the existing house, and relocating the living spaces to the rear of the house where they have connection to the back garden. Distinct 1960’s features such as face brick, stone cladding and timber framed windows and walnut panelling are celebrated, juxtaposed with sharp roof details and voluminous entry skylight which elevate this modest design.
This house is built on the land of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar nation.
